James Ashley Morrison
James Morrison is a graduate of the College of St. Thomas (1970) and the University of Minnesota Law School (1973, cum laude), a member of the Minnesota Law Review and is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Wisconsin as well as the Federal Courts in those States.
Jim began his legal career in Chicago with the firm of Hubacheck, Kelly, Rauch, and Kirby. In 1976, he moved to Marinette, Wisconsin, where he began practicing with Topel, Jabas, and Faller prior to the formation of the law firm of Jabas & Morrison in 1977. The firm is now known as James A. Morrison, S.C..
Jim has represented individuals, businesses, many municipalities, school boards, financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations, as well as serving on many community and civic boards, including Goodwill Industries (President for 5 years and Board Member for 6 years), Northland Lutheran Foundation, United Way, the Menominee Catholic Central Foundation, Riverside County Club, the M & M Community Foundation and is currently President of the University of Wisconsin-Marinette Foundation. Jim has served as Chair of the Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for two terms. He speaks regularly to groups in the areas of Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Medical Assistance Planning , and numerous Business, Labor Relations and Management Topics. He is a certified part time instructor at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Business Law, Paralegal Studies and Probate and Estate Planning areas and an adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin, Marinette.
